The Virginia Medical Interpreting Collaborative is a statewide network made up of trained interpreters, health care providers, hospitals, administrative staff, community activist working with the limited English proficient (LEP) population of Virginia, state and local government, health professionals, language access professionals, and members of Virginia’s varied limited English proficient communities.
To improve language access services throughout Virginia by exploring ways to collaborate on the best practices in the field to ensure the safest and highest quality health care to the LEP community.
This website provides Virginia-specific resources for interpreter information and links to national developments in the field of medical interpreting. We are working to advance professional medical interpreting in health care and human service settings for Virginia’s limited English speaking populations.
